Debbi Becker is a native of Miami, Florida and currently lives in Henrico, Virginia.
Debbi continues to be mentored and guided in her art from two well known artists in Florida. Louise Freshman Brown M.F.A.
(Retired Professor from UNF, Jacksonville) since 2009 and Pablo Contrisciani M.F.A. since 2006 at the Miami Art Center,
now Oolite Arts on Lincoln Rd.
Before leaving Florida in May of 2020, Debbi was Artist In Residence at SeminoleArt Studio and Gallery from 2017 until May, 2020.
She continued to teach collage, mixed media and painting.
Previous to that, Debbi was the Artist in Residence/Creative Director at Gallery 2014 in Hollywood, Florida from 2013 until 2017.
Debbi taught collage and mixed media art classes/workshops as well as showing her own artwork in the gallery at openings and various show. The Gallery was closed by owners in 2017.
Debbi was the Co-Founder of BecBer Studios in Dania Beach, Fla (until building sold) and the Co-Founder of FOR ART SAKE in Hollywood from 2009 to 2011 (closed due to higher Landlord rent issues).
Debbi has shown and sold her work in several South Florida venues, some listed below.
In addition, Debbi worked with different practitioners and Dr. George Munoz of the OASIS Institute doing “Art as Therapy” to assist
in MIND/BODY Integrative Medicine in Aventura Florida. Debbi was also a member of Art Serve, SFAA, and a Contributor and Artist Member of “The Artful Activist” Group of Miami where a vest she designed, which is displayed in a Museum in Miami.
Debbi also worked on Social Causes with ArtServe a Non-Profit Gallery, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla (in 2019).
